Board Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist

Marcus M. Greenwood, MA, LPC, C.C.H. is a member of the American Counseling Association.

Early in my counseling career I had a new patient tell me that therapy had never really worked for him before. He said,

"Just don't cram sunshine down my throat, it will only make me burp rainbows."

That was a valuable lesson about the need to be straight forward and help people make practical changes with a compassionate, no nonsense, solution oriented approach to therapy and counseling. If you are ready to try and make some positive changes in your life, I would be pleased to work with you. I have successfully worked with many people who have  felt stuck, unhappy in their present situation or frustrated by the many challenges that life can present.

I have extensive experience working with a broad range of counseling issues, including personal development, parenting, couples counseling, blended family issues, struggling teens, severe mental illness, adolescent sexual orientation issues,  substance abuse, and career counseling.

I offer a free 15 minute consultation. If I am not the right therapist for you and the challenges you face, I will help you find someone who is. If you decide to move forward working with me, I offer very reasonable fees and convenient hours.

Counseling Philosophy:

The counseling relationship is a Confidential and collaborative effort through which an attempt is made to achieve the client's goals in a safe environment free of shame and condemnation regardless of the presenting issue.

The therapist recognizes and respects that entering into therapy is not an easy step for many people.

The therapist recognizes and respects that during the therapeutic process the client may experience significant emotional pain as they work through the presented issue.

With this recognition, the therapist commits to assisting and supporting the client therapeutically through the process of problem resolution and goal achievement. The therapist will at all times hold the client in a position of respect while giving honest feedback to the client.
